
Utkarsh Dubey
Research Analyst
Utkarsh has joined The Council as a Research Analyst with the Power Markets team. His work focuses on power system modelling, energy storage, and renewable integration, with the aim of contributing to India’s clean energy transition and strengthening the resilience of the power sector.
Prior to joining The Council, Utkarsh worked as a Project Associate at MANIT, Bhopal, where he contributed to consultancy projects on transmission planning, resource adequacy, reactive power management, and renewable energy integration in collaboration with the World Resources Institute India, Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd., and Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd. He also gained industry exposure through internships at BHEL Bhopal and the Power Distribution Training Center, where he worked on transformer testing, net metering, and SCADA systems. He also designed and tested a Battery Management System, applying MATLAB-based simulations and field validations.
Utkarsh holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from UIT-RGPV, Bhopal. In addition to academics, he was actively involved in student societies, serving as Co-convener at The Institution of Engineers India (College Chapter) and Executive Head at Asper—Design & Development Society, gaining experience in leadership, technical initiatives, and collaboration.
Beyond work, Utkarsh is deeply passionate about chess, which has shaped his thinking — strategic, patient, and always prepared for the next move. Outside the chessboard, he enjoys reading and watching sci-fi series.
