Programme Associate

Sukanya Nag has joined The Council as a Programme Associate with the Sustainable Food Systems team. Her work focuses on engaging private sector stakeholders and other key system actors to catalyse a transition toward sustainable food systems. She supports project coordination, partnership development, and the design of initiatives that drive systemic impact.

Before joining The Council, Sukanya worked closely with global food corporations, supporting their sustainability objectives through technology and innovation-led strategic solutions. She holds a Master’s degree in Food Engineering and Technology from Tezpur University and a Bachelor’s in Food Technology from the University of Delhi.

She is deeply passionate about tracking breakthrough innovations and research that drive circularity across food value chains, enabling large-scale, systemic change for sustainability and efficient resource utilisation.

Outside of work, Sukanya is a creative spirit who enjoys painting, swimming, and practising yoga. She also dabbles in gardening and loves discovering new places. A keen history enthusiast, she seeks out destinations rich in culture and legacy - from the caves of Elephanta and the temples of Mahabalipuram to the forts of Jhansi and palaces of Rajasthan.
