Sanskriti Gupta

Research Analyst

Sanskriti has joined The Council as a Research Analyst with the Energy Transitions. Her work focuses on supporting the adoption and scale up of distributed renewable energy, more specifically solar rooftop systems in India.

Prior to joining The Council, Sanskriti’s most recent and relevant work experience comprises her  internships at NITI Aayog (Energy Vertical) and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD, Geneva). Throughout her internships she researched distributed renewable energy, analysed national and state-level energy policies, and contributed to work on emerging technologies in the renewable energy space. She has also worked as a Gandhi Fellow in Jhunjhunu, where she was responsible for the educational upliftment of rural communities.

Sanskriti holds a Master’s degree in International and Development Studies with a specialization in Environment and Sustainability from the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID) and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Outside of work, Sanskriti is an avid baker who loves developing healthier versions of desserts. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, swimming, and volunteering at a nearby animal shelter. Dreaming out loud, she hopes one day to contribute to shaping the next generation of Sustainable Development Goals beyond 2030.
