Vidyapati has joined The Council as a Programme Associate with the Energy Transitions team. His work focuses on research, analysis, and engagement to increase the deployment of distributed renewable energy (DRE) and support its integration into the grid. 

Before joining The Council, Vidyapati worked at Swaniti Global as an Associate Fellow, where he contributed to research and engagement on topics such as methane mitigation in the energy sector, the role of parliamentarians in shaping ambitious Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and Just Energy Transition. He has also worked as a Process Design Engineer at Petrofac Limited, a multinational energy-sector engineering services provider.

Vidyapati holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, a Master’s in Business Administration (Operations Management), and a second Master’s in Public Policy and Governance from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Outside of work, Vidyapati enjoys reading fiction and non-fiction, watching movies and TV shows, and learning about different cultures, societies, geographies, and political systems.
