Gurjot Singh
Communications Consultant
Gurjot has joined The Council as a Communications Consultant with the Outreach team, where he leads communication efforts for the Powering Livelihoods initiative with a strong focus on rural marketing. His work centres on building narratives around decentralised renewable energy technologies, strengthening last-mile engagement, and enabling greater adoption of DRE-based solutions across rural India.
Prior to joining The Council, Gurjot worked with Yara Fertilizers India Private Limited as a Marketing Specialist, driving campaigns across rural and farming communities to promote balanced crop nutrition. He developed targeted programmes such as Balanced Nutrition for Climate Smart Orchards for apple growers to address the emerging climate challenges faced by orchardists. Before Yara, he also worked with KRIBHCO in roles that strengthened his on-ground exposure to farmer engagement, input distribution systems, and rural outreach.
Gurjot holds a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, specialising in Plant Protection. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time on farms, travelling through rural landscapes, and having long conversations with farmers.
