Yash has joined The Council as a Consultant with the Mobility team. During his Ph.D. at IIT Delhi, he conducted extensive research in ambient air quality monitoring and modelling. He specialised in source apportionment studies using receptor modelling techniques such as PMF 5.0, dispersion modelling with AERMOD, and back-trajectory analysis using HYSPLIT. His work focused on urban and rural landscapes of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities like Amritsar and Alwar, providing key insights into PM2.5 sources and contributing to air pollution mitigation strategies.
He holds expertise in extracting and analyzing data for various air pollutants using satellite sensors like MODIS and TROPOMI. His expertise extends to geospatial modelling, environmental data analysis, and sustainable urban planning. With experience in both field surveys and advanced modelling techniques, he aims to bridge research and policy to develop effective air quality and mobility solutions.
Beyond his professional endeavors, he is an avid music producer and a singer, loves travelling, photography and cooking. He is passionate about policymaking, sustainability, and leveraging data-driven approaches to tackle urban environmental challenges.
