At The Council, Sunita leads Human Resource Operations and plays a key role in strengthening people processes, employee engagement, and organisational effectiveness. With over twenty three years of professional experience across the private and non-government sectors, she brings deep expertise in HR operations, employee lifecycle management, policy implementation, and institutional coordination.

Over the years, she has worked extensively in mission-driven and impact-oriented organisations, supporting teams through periods of growth, transition, and operational transformation. Her approach combines process orientation with people-centric practices, enabling efficient systems while fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.

Prior to joining The Council, Sunita worked with Water.org, where she contributed to HR and organizational processes in the development sector. She has also been associated with Public Health Foundation of India, supporting human resource functions within a leading public health institution. In addition, she worked with the Canadian Immigration Integration Program and Education Consultant India Limited, gaining diverse experience across international programs, education, and people operations.

Sunita holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and a graduate degree in Commerce from University of Delhi. She also earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Annamalai University, which further strengthened her understanding of organisational management and business operations.

Known for her strong interpersonal skills, operational rigor, and solution-oriented approach, Sunita is passionate about building efficient systems and creating positive employee experiences. Outside of work, she enjoys listening to music and following cricket, table tennis, badminton and tennis.
