Neera Majumdar
Communications Manager
Neera Majumdar is a Communications Manager at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water, where she leads editorial, digital, and data storytelling to translate complex research into compelling public narratives. She plays a bridge role between researchers and wider audiences, ensuring that rigorous analysis, research nuance, and critical thinking travel beyond silos. She aims to direct the narrative spine of CEEW’s climate and sustainability communications—shaping how policymakers, newsmakers, and the public engage with these debates at a critical moment in world history and tell the India story right.
Previously, Neera was a Senior Assistant Editor at ThePrint, where she edited opinions and features and managed the publication’s book section. She worked closely with a wide range of contributors—from scientists and economists to politicians and culture shapers—helping sharpen arguments and make complex ideas accessible without losing their nuance and, more importantly, voice.
Neera holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English Literature from Jadavpur University, postgraduate diplomas in Art and Editing, and was a Young India Fellow at Ashoka University.
Her interests span culture, food politics, sociology, and history. In her free time, she mentors school students aspiring to become young journalists, reads mostly non-fiction, drinks tea, and negotiates daily with a cat who believes authority only flows one way.
