Chaitanya Raj

Research Analyst

Chaitanya has joined The Council as a Research Analyst with the Sustainable Water team. Her area of focus includes water resource management through Nature-based Solutions and One Health, addressing water quality and quantity. Prior to CEEW, she has worked at GIZ as part of the Indo-German Biodiversity Programme in Wetlands Management for Biodiversity and Climate Protection Team and has worked on various projects, including the preparation of the Mission Document for the Tamil Nadu Wetlands Mission. She has successfully mediated stakeholder meetings under WaterAid projects to enhance participatory planning in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects in Odisha. Her experience also includes successful science outreach and financial mobilisation efforts.

She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Delhi. Additionally, she has pursued an Advanced Certificate Course in Geoinformatics, conducted by the Centre for Environment and Development in Trivandrum. With a strong foundation in project implementation and solution design from her previous roles, she is determined to work on projects that address the intersection of sustainability, conservation and climate change, creating a more resilient future.

Beyond her professional and academic pursuits, she likes to immerse herself in the world of literature. As a Bharatanatyam dancer, theatre enthusiast, and ardent admirer of nature walks, Chaitanya draws inspiration from art & nature.
