Anuj has joined The Council as a Programme Lead with the Energy Transitions team. His work focuses on generating advocacy to increase the share of Distributed Renewable Energy and its integration in the grid, create awareness among people to adopt DRE and closely work with stakeholders involved to accelerate deployment.

Prior to joining The Council, Anuj worked as an Energy Advisor with GIZ. His projects included promoting DRE technologies at national and subnational level. Previous to GIZ, he worked with CLEAN, an industry body to strengthen DRE companies to expand their businesses. Before venturing into the not for profit sector, he worked with the engineering multinationals like TUV SUD South Asia and Mott MacDonald serving energy industries. He also experienced an entrepreneurial journey with REConnect Energy Solutions, a digital energy platform startup.

Anuj holds a Bachelor in Technology (Honours) in Energy Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He also pursued Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law from National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. Outside work, he enjoys traveling with his family and cooking at home. He unwinds by watching football and movies, or listening to music. He likes going outdoors, enjoying nature walks and cycling. He also likes to read and learn new things.
